VEGETATION MANAGEMENT WORKS ON THE A876

April 4, 2024

  • Overnight closures from Higgins Neuk Roundabout to Kilbagie Roundabout 15-18 April 2024

BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, is carrying out essential landscape works to remove potentially hazardous trees and to improve the woodland areas along the A876.

The work will take place on the nights of Monday 15 to Thursday 18 April between the hours of 21:30 and 06:00.

During these works, The A876 including Clackmannanshire Bridge will be closed for safety in both directions between Higgins Neuk Roundabout south of the Kincardine Bridge and Kilbagie Roundabout at the junction with the A977 to the north. The footway along the A876 will also be closed.

Road users heading northbound will be diverted across the Kincardine Bridge to the A876 North Approach Road and onto the A977 northbound to Kilbagie Roundabout.

Road users heading southbound will be diverted down the A977 at Kilbagie Roundabout onto the A876 North Approach Road and across Kincardine Bridge.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network manager, said: “It is essential for safety that we close Clackmannanshire Bridge while we remove potentially hazardous trees and improve the woodland areas.

“We understand that this will be disruptive and have planned the works to take place at night when traffic flows are lower to reduce the impact.

“The nature of the works will result in a slight increase in noise levels and we apologise in advance for the inconvenience this may cause.

“We thank road users and the local community for their patience and understanding.”

All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
