The maps below show works planned by BEAR Scotland in the North West and South East Units, last updated 27/06/2024.

  • Structural Maintenance (green icons) refers to all projects relating to carriageway resurfacing.
  • Routine Maintenance (blue icons) refers to projects relating to ancillary assets such as footways (FW), vehicle restraint systems (VRS), drainage improvements (DR) and road marking and studding upgrades (RMS).
  • Bridge Maintenance (orange icons) refers to all projects to maintain our major and network bridges.
  • Active Travel (yellow icons) refers to projects which install or improve links for non-motorised users, such as footpaths and cycle paths, and related works.
  • Strategic Road Safety (purple icons) refers to projects to prevent and reduce the occurrence and severity of collisions.

Click on the icons to view further information about each project, including an estimated start date and the planned traffic management at each location.

Please note the programme for carriageway resurfacing is likely to change subject to operational reasons or impacts from the weather.

BEAR Scotland teams will do all they can to minimise disruption wherever possible, and will work to complete the projects as quickly and safely as possible.

Consultation will be carried out with relevant stakeholders ahead of any schemes which involve road closures or night time working.
