URGENT REPAIRS ON A828 CONNEL BRIDGE

June 27, 2025

  • Urgent repairs will be carried out from 7pm on Friday 27 June

  • Traffic will be held for short intervals of around 10 minutes

BEAR Scotland is advising road users and the local community that Connel Bridge on the A828 will be closed for short periods on the evening of Friday 27 June to allow urgent works to be carried out. This is required following a recent bridge strike.

To ensure the safety of contractors carrying out the bridge works, traffic lights will be used to stop traffic in both directions for around 10 minutes. Waiting vehicles will then be allowed to clear before bringing traffic to a stop for another 10 minutes.

Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These urgent repairs on the A828 Connel Bridge are required following a recent bridge strike.

“While the issue is not currently posing any immediate danger, prompt attention is essential to ensure the continued safe operation of the bridge.

“Our teams will carry out these works as quickly as possible to help minimise disruption. We thank the local community and road users for their patience and understanding while we carry out this vital maintenance.”
