BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, continues rockslope stabilisation works on the A828 between Ledaig and Benderloch, just north of Connel Bridge.
The existing traffic lights at this location will remain in place whilst a monitoring period gets underway. This is to protect road users, and to ensure safe and consistent access to the slope as plans for the final phase of stabilisation works are developed.
During the monitoring period, tree felling and the installation of temporary catchfences will be carried out. BEAR Scotland will also undertake some scaling works at specific locations along the slope.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “Progress in this location has been challenging due to ecological constraints and complex geotechnical conditions encountered on-site.
“We wish to thank local residents, businesses and road users for their continued patience and understanding whilst these vital safety improvements are carried out, and whilst the next steps for further rock stabilisation and installation of netting are planned.”
