UPDATE ON OVERNIGHT CROMARTY BRIDGE WORKS ON A9 – May 2026

Update on 15 May 2026: An additional night of convoy on the A9 Cromarty Bridge on the night of Monday 18 May. New information below.


  • Bridge maintenance works continue throughout May and June

  • 10mph convoy system in operation

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, has confirmed further dates for overnight maintenance works on Cromarty Bridge on the A9, near Dingwall later this month.

Overnight activities will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 6am as follows:

  • Wednesday 6 May to the morning of Saturday 9 May
  • Monday 18 May to the morning of Tuesday 19 May
  • Wednesday 10 June to the morning of Saturday 13 June
  • Monday 15 June to the morning of Monday 22 June

To protect the workforce and members of the travelling public, a convoy system will be in operation under traffic lights, with vehicles escorted safely through the works at approximately 10mph. These traffic management measures will be removed outwith working hours.
