UPDATE: NEW DATES FOR ROAD IMPROVEMENTS FOR A84 IN CALLANDER

November 14, 2023

  • Resurfacing Wednesday 15 to Friday 24 November
  • No works Tuesday 14 November due to adverse weather

Following the successful completion of the first stages of work, on the A84 in Callander, BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to undertake the final stages of improvements between Ancaster Square and Leny Feus from Wednesday 15 November. The project, valued at £460,000, will resume on Wednesday 15 November. All scheduled work is now expected to conclude by 2am on Saturday 25 November, depending on weather conditions. As a result of adverse weather, no works will take place tonight, Tuesday 14 November.

Access to properties will be maintained, but there will be times when access is temporarily restricted as the works progress. These restrictions are necessary to ensure the safety of our workforce and members of the public. When access is restricted, a member of the site team will contact those affected.

Safety barriers will also be in place along the footpaths. Pedestrians and cyclists will be guided safely through the area or shown to a diversion route and might have to wait for a short period. These precautions are again necessary to ensure the safety of both the workforce and the public whilst the works are carried out.

The following traffic management arrangements will be in place:

Carriageway Resurfacing (Ancaster Square to Leny Fues) – Wednesday 15 November to Sunday 19 November 2023: There will be a lane closure controlled by temporary traffic signals and a 10mph Convoy System during work hours (17:00hrs to 02:00hrs). This will be removed outside work times and there will be no works on Friday or Saturday nights. .

Road Marking Installation (Ancaster Square to Leny Fues) – Monday 20 to Friday 24 November 2023: There will be a lane closure controlled by temporary traffic signals during work hours (19:00hrs to 02:00hrs). This will be removed outside work times.

An updated detailed sequence of the works is provided below:

  • Phase 1 to 5: Complete
  • Phase 6: Ancaster Square to east of Station Road – completion of final road surface

o Wednesday 15th November (A81 junction closure)

  • Phase 7: Station Road to east of Tulipan Crescent – completion of final road surface
