April 7, 2021

Works begin on 12 April for three weeks

A programme of surfacing improvements across four locations on the A85 between Methven and St Fillans is set to start next week.

Sections of the A85 near Drumphin Farm at Fowlis Wester, east of Comrie near West Lodge Caravan Park, a section east of Crieff Golf Club, and a section of the A85 west of Tullybannocher near Comrie are all to benefit from resurfacing.

The works will address any defects in the road surface at these locations, and will take place during the daytime, 7am to 7pm, with no work planned at weekends.

For safety, a 10mph convoy system will be in place to keep roadworkers as well as motorists safe during the works. The convoy system will be removed out of hours however, a temporary 30mph speed restriction will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.

The work will take place as follows, subject to weather conditions:

• A85 Drumphin Farm, near Fowlis Wester – Monday 12 April to Monday 19 April (six days, excluding the weekend)
• A85 West Lodge Caravan Park, east of Comrie –Tuesday 20 April to Wednesday 21 April (two days)
