SURFACING IMPROVEMENTS PLANNED FOR A85 WEST OF METHVEN

April 21, 2022

Works to begin from Monday 25 April for two days

A section of the A85 west of Methven is to benefit from an improved road surface with work set to get underway on Monday 25 April.

The works are programmed to take place over two days, from 7am to 7pm each day, with all works expected to be complete by 7pm Tuesday 25 April subject to weather conditions.

To protect roadworkers and road users, a 10mph convoy system will be in place whilst resurfacing operations take place. Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours; however, a temporary 30mph speed limit will remain in place as vehicles will be travelling over a temporary surface.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s Representative for the North West, said: “This surfacing project near Cloag Wood to the west of Methven will greatly improve the quality and safety of this section of the A85 for road users.

“The 10mph convoy system is essential for the safety of our teams and motorists but we have taken steps to minimise disruption by arranging for the removal of the traffic management outwith working hours.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance of works commencing and encourage them to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
