BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out surfacing improvements at two locations on the A87 near Loch Cluanie from Tuesday 7 October.
Works will be carried out between 8pm and 5am with all works being completed by the morning of Tuesday 14 October. No works will be carried out on Friday or Saturday nights.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, this section of the A87 will be closed in both directions during working hours. Amnesties will be offered at 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 2am and 4am to allow waiting vehicles to be escorted safely through the site.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users. We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
