Update on 2 October 2025: Due to Storm Amy and wet weather forecast, works on the A85 at Taynuilt will now be complete on Sunday 12 October. See updates below.
  • Works start on Monday 22 September until Wednesday 24 September

  • Daytime lane closures with traffic lights and convoy

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be carrying out essential surfacing improvements on the A85 east of Taynuilt from Monday 22 September.
Works to fix existing defects in the road surface will be carried out between the hours of 7am to 7pm. Works will be complete on Sunday 12 October.
To protect the workforce and road users, two-way traffic lights will be in place with a 10mph convoy to guide traffic safely through the site.
Outwith working hours, traffic management will be removed, however a 30mph speed limit will remain in place until works are completed as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users.
“Upgrades to road markings will also enhance visibility and road safety. We thank motorists for their patience.”
