January 25, 2023

  • Overnight works commence Tuesday 7 February 2023 for 3 nights

  • Carriageway closures 8pm to 6am

  • Ongoing lane closures on A8011 Glasgow Road (westbound) remain in place for safety to reduce vehicle loading during inspections

Essential structural inspections are required on the M80 at Junction 4a Low Wood to allow teams to obtain information to inform the design of potential structural repairs.

“It is hoped that these additional inspections beginning on Tuesday 7 February will determine what structural repairs are required to allow the traffic management to be removed from the A8011.

“The closures planned for the upcoming investigations are vital to ensure the safety of the workforce and motorists, however we will look to complete these investigation works as quickly and safely as possible.

“We thank all road users for their patience while these essential investigation works are carried out and encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date journey information.”

The investigation works are being carried out by Aecom on behalf of Highway Management (Scotland) Limited.  Works have been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland and North Lanarkshire Council.
