BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out street lighting upgrades on the A82 Achintore Road in Fort William from Monday 10 November.
Works will be carried out Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:30am and 4pm and are expected to be completed by Friday 13 March 2026.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, temporary traffic lights will be in place during working hours. These will be removed at the end of each shift.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the street lighting upgrades to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “Replacement of the street lighting columns at Achintore Road on the A82 will enhance safety, energy efficiency and aesthetics while reducing maintenance costs and supporting environmental goals.
“Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
