Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the works in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: ““It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close these flyovers and slip roads while streetlighting upgrade works take place.

“There are alternative routes available nearby and we’ll do this at night to minimise the impact, so we do not expect these works to cause significant disruption.

“Our advice if you need to travel via Hermiston Gait at night during this period is to check whether closures will be in place and allow a few extra minutes for your journey if necessary.

“We’re grateful to road users for their understanding.”
