BEAR Scotland is reminding drivers to comply with temporary reduced speed limits through bridge works on the M90 at Junction 2, Masterton, as a further series of overnight slip road closures is confirmed.
The project to refurbish Masterton Viaduct, which carries the motorway at Junction 2, has been under way since November 2025.
David Bishop, BEAR Scotland’s South East Bridges Manager, said: “The current phase of work on the edges of the bridge requires traffic restrictions, including a reduced speed limit of 40mph to protect workers and motorists while the bridge parapets are being upgraded.
“Drivers who exceed speed limits are liable to be fined and receive penalty points on their licence. Average speed cameras managed by Police Scotland are in place to help enforce this.
“We’re grateful to motorists for their understanding and cooperation. Our people may not be visible at the roadside, but please be aware they are working just out of sight on the sides of the bridge on dayshifts and nightshifts.”
The following additional overnight closures of the M90 Junction 1C northbound on-slip and the M90 Junction 2 on-slip and off-slip have now been confirmed:
Various overnight lane closures will also be in place, and the hard shoulders in both directions will remain closed at all times.

All works are dependent on the weather and the existing condition of the structure, which can’t be fully understood until works commence and intrusive investigations are carried out. As such, the programme of works is subject to postponement, cancellation or rearrangement of dates in the event of adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
