SIGNING IMPROVEMENTS ON A9 SOUTH OF BIRNAM

Updated 27 June 2025: Due to a change in resources, signing improvements on the A9 south of Birnam will now take place during the day on Tuesday 1 July from 9am to 4pm. This change to daytime working means traffic lights are no longer required and works can be completed in one day. Please see new information below. 

 

  • Signing improvements start Tuesday 1 July for one day

 

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland are set to carry out essential signing improvements on the A9 south of Birnam from Tuesday 1 July between the hours of 9am and 4pm.

 

The signing improvement works involve improved signage for layby number 15 which is one mile south of Birnam, off the northbound A9.

 

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These signing improvements on the A9 South of Birnam will make the location of Layby 15 more apparent, and improve safety for motorists.”

“Our teams will carry out these works as quickly and safely as posssible. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
