SECOND PHASE OF ROAD MARKING IMPROVEMENTS ON A85 BETWEEN TYNDRUM AND OBAN IMPACTED BY INCLEMENT WEATHER

Please be advised that the second phase of a road marking scheme on the A85 between Tyndrum and Dunollie Roundabout in Oban has been impacted by inclement weather.

The project was due to get underway on Monday 4 April, however due to the recent weather, works commenced yesterday (Thursday 7 April) and will continue for six days.  Completion is expected by 7pm on Thursday 14 April subject to weather conditions. No works are programmed to take place over the weekend.

The traffic management will remain the same as originally planned, temporary lane closures will be in place between 9.30am and 7pm each day utilising a stop/go traffic management system. Access will be maintained at all times through the works site for emergency services.

All relevant stakeholders have been made aware of the changes for these works.

Works start on Monday 4 April for one week

 

The second phase of a road marking scheme on the A85 between Tyndrum and Oban is set to get underway from Monday 4 April.

The project is part of £600,000 investment by Transport Scotland which involves improvements to the road markings between Tyndrum and Dunollie Roundabout in Oban. The first phase, between Tyndrum and Connel Bridge Junction, was completed earlier in March.

The second phase, between Connel Bridge Junction and Dunollie Roundabout in Oban, is scheduled to begin on Monday 4 April and is anticipated to take place over a week. The works will be undertaken Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 7pm. No works are planned for the weekend.

For the safety of road workers and road users, temporary lane closures will be in place during the works utilising a stop/go traffic management system. Access will be maintained at all times through the works site for emergency services.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “This second phase of essential road marking improvement works will allow us to improve the condition of the road markings on this section of the A85 between Connel Bridge Junction and Dunollie Roundabout in Oban.

“The traffic management arrangements are necessary to provide a safe working area for the workforce and road users. However, our teams will do all they can to keep any disruption to a minimum.
