February 20, 2026

  • Lane closures northbound in place 24 hours a day from Sunday 22 February

  • Lane closures southbound in place between 7pm and 7am

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, undertaking essential safety improvements on the A9 North of Inveralmond Roundabout starting Sunday 22 February for five weeks.

These works will replace the bridge parapets and renew the roadside barriers at Almond Bridge, approximately 0.3 miles north of Inveralmond Roundabout.

Due to the nature of the works, a lane closure and 50mph speed restriction will be in place on the northbound carriageway 24 hours a day between 7pm on Sunday 22 February and 7am on Friday 6 March. A southbound lane closure will be in place between 7pm and 7am each night between the evening of Sunday 8 March and the morning of Friday 27 March. No works will take place on Friday or Saturday nights during the southbound lane closures.

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained throughout the project, and consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders to ensure awareness of traffic management arrangements

Richard Cook, BEAR Scotland’s North West Bridges Manager said: “These essential parapet and barrier replacement works on the A9 at Almond Bridge will improve safety to all road users. The lane closures that will be in place to undertake these works are essential for the safety of road workers and road users and we encourage all road users to follow any signs and speed limits that are put in place.”

“We continue to thank the local community and road users for their patience while we carry out these essential works.”
