August 6, 2021

  • Daytime lane closures from 11 to 24 August 2021

BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to upgrade and lengthen safety barriers on a bend at Backshiels on the A702 south of Candymill Bend from the 11 to 24 August 2021.

For the safety of workers and road users, there will be lane closures on the A702 Backshiels South of Candymill Bend from 09:30 until 15:30 from the 11 to 24 August.

The project is being undertaken thanks to a £38,500 investment from Transport Scotland.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These safety barrier upgrades will improve safety for motorists on this section of the A702.

“Lane closures are essential for safety while also minimising disruption as these works take place. We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
