BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are due to start works to improve safety on the A9 at Ralia Junction. The planned works involve installation of new safety barriers in the junction area.

The project will get underway from Sunday 20 July and is expected to take up to ten nights to complete. Works will be carried out between 7pm and 6am each night and are due to be complete by 6am on Friday 1 August.

The A9 and B9150 will remain open during the works but to protect road workers and the travelling public, a northbound lane closure with temporary traffic lights will be in place 24 hours a day during the week but will be removed over the weekends. A temporary 30 mph speed restriction will remain in place through the works period.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s Northwest Representative, said: “This project will improve safety for road users near the A9 Ralia Junction, with the new safety barriers being installed. We are seeking to minimise the disruption caused by working at night and standing down our works at the weekend.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan their journeys ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
