  • Traffic lights in place until Friday 19 December

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out rockfall mesh netting replacement works on the A83 at Strone Point, approximately 2 km northeast of Inveraray, from Monday 15 December.

Works will be carried out between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm and are expected to be completed by Friday 19 December.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, a single-lane closure with two-way temporary traffic lights and a temporary 30mph speed limit will be in place for the duration of the works. Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of  the works.

Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of the rockfall mesh netting replacement works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These rockfall mesh netting replacement works on the A83 at Strone Point will address defects within the existing netting system and is vital in improving the long term resilience of the route, improving the quality and safety for road users.

“Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
