ROAD USERS TO RETURN TO A83 REST AND BE THANKFUL

December 15, 2025

  • Traffic to return to A83 at Rest and Be Thankful at around 2pm on Monday 15 December

Following thorough inspections of the hillside, traffic will return to the A83 Rest and Be Thankful, operated by BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland at around 2pm this afternoon, Monday 15 December.

The short Old Military Road local diversion had been in use as a safety precaution from 1pm on Saturday 13 December due to heavy rainfall. This ensured that the public were able to travel to and from Argyll safely and with minimal delay.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: ““The Old Military Road once again worked effectively, ensuring Argyll remained accessible throughout the heavy rainfall. We greatly appreciate the patience and cooperation shown by all road users.”
