ROAD USERS RETURN TO A83 REST AND BE THANKFUL

May 27, 2025

  • Traffic returned to A83 at Rest and Be Thankful at around 10am on Tuesday 27 May

Due to improved weather conditions, traffic returned to the A83 Rest and Be Thankful operated by BEAR Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland at around 10am this morning, Tuesday 27 May.

The short Old Military Road local diversion had been in use as a safety precaution from Friday 23 May due to heavy and persistent rain over the weekend and on Monday. This ensured that the public were able to travel to and from Argyll safely and with minimal delay.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “The use of the Old Military Road again proved to be very successful, keeping Argyll very much open for business through the very wet period.

“We thank road users for their patience.”
