ROAD SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS, A9 LUNCARTY JUNCTION

A9 Luncarty slip
  • Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 April 8pm-6am
  • Overnight slip closures with diversion

The A9 Luncarty junction will see road safety upgrades this April, with the replacement of road markings and reflective studs improving visibility at the slips.

Work will be carried out by BEAR Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland on the nights of Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 April, from 8pm-6am.

The northbound off and on slips will be closed on the night of Monday 8 April and a signed diversion will be in place (see details below). There will also be a lane 1 closure on the northbound A9 for safety.

The southbound on slip will be closed on the night of Tuesday 9 April and a signed diversion will be in place (see details below). There will also be a lane 1 closure on the southbound A9 for safety.

 

NB Luncarty off slip diversion:

Traffic will be diverted northbound along the A9 to the B9099 Stanley Junction. At the junction, turn left to head towards Stanley. After crossing the overbridge across the A9, turn right towards Luncarty. At the junction of the B9099, turn right again to head back into Luncarty.

NB Luncarty on slip diversion:

Traffic will be diverted southbound via the Luncarty SB on slip, then join the southbound A9 towards Perth. Traffic will be redirected around Inveralmond Roundabout before joining the northbound A9 towards the Luncarty junction.

SB Luncarty on slip diversion:

 

Traffic will be diverted across the A9 via the overbridge onto the NB A9 via the Luncarty NB on slip. Then follow the diversion northbound along the A9 to the B9099 Stanley Junction. Turn left towards Stanley, then left again onto the southbound Stanley Junction On Slip. Finally, head southbound on the A9 back towards the Luncarty Junction and onwards to Perth.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “To ensure the safety of our local community and all road users, we are undertaking a comprehensive refresh of the Luncarty junction. This includes the replacement of all studs and road markings, along with a thorough cleaning of the kerbs. Visibility will be improved, enhancing safety, which is our top priority.”
