ROAD IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE A9 DALGUISE TO BALLINLUIG

  • Lining refresh to start on Monday 26 June for 23 nights
  • Resurfacing to start on Sunday 2 July for 8 nights
  • Lane closures with 10mph convoy & two way traffic lights

 

 

Road improvements worth a combined value of £530,000 on the A9 between Dalguise and Ballinluig will get underway on Monday 26 June for 31 nights. The works will be carried out by BEAR Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland.

 

The work begins on 26 June with lining improvements, including the replacement of the white lines and studs with more reflective alternatives, on 8.7km of the A9 carriageway between the Dalguise Junction and the Ballinluig dual carriageway. This will be completed by 6am on Saturday 5 August.

 

From Sunday 2 July, 1200 metres of the A9 will be resurfaced at two sites (A9 Dalmarnock to Rotmell – south of the Rotmell junction and A9 Rotmell to Dowally – south and north of the Dowally Junction). The resurfacing will be completed by 6am on Wednesday 12 July.

A9 Dalguise to Ballinluig (lining refresh):

 

Works will take place from Monday 26 June to Saturday 1 July, and Wednesday 12 July to Wednesday 26 July (15 nights), between 7pm and 6am. From the 26 July works will take place at the later time of 10pm to 6am, finishing by the morning of Saturday 5 August.

 

There will be lane closures between the Dalguise Junction and the dual carriageway at Ballinluig. A reduced speed limit with temporary traffic lights will be in place on the approach to the site and traffic will be guided through the works, at 10mph, by a convoy vehicle.

 

A9 Dalmarnock to Rotmell (resurfacing):

 

There will be lane closures from Sunday 2 July to Tuesday 4 July (two nights), between 7pm and 6am, at the A9 single carriageway south of the Rotmell Junction. A reduced speed limit along with temporary traffic lights will be set up on the approach to the site and traffic will be guided through the works by a convoy vehicle at 10mph.

 

A9 Rotmell to Dowally (resurfacing):

 

There will be lane closures from Tuesday 4 July to Wednesday 12 July (six nights), between 7pm and 6am, at the A9 single carriageway north and south of the Dowally Junction. A reduced speed limit with temporary traffic lights will be set up on the approach to the site and traffic will be guided through the works, at 10mph, by a convoy vehicle. No works will be carried out on the Friday and Saturday nights (7 and 8 July).

The road marking improvements are part of our our commitment with Transport Scotland to improve the safety performance of the A9.
