  • Works begin on Monday 29 May for four days.

  • Lane closures with 10mph convoy from 7am-7pm.

Motorists using the A830 are set to benefit from a new road surface, with four days of works scheduled on Monday 29 May, Tuesday 30 May, Wednesday 31 May and Thursday 1 June from 7am to 7pm.

The works will see Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland replace the worn-out road surface on the A830 from the Larachmore Viaduct to Beasdale, making the carriageway more durable, smoother and safer. Works will take place at Beasdale on Monday 29 May, moving to the Larachmore Viaduct on Tuesday 30 May, Wednesday 31 May and Thursday 1 June.

For the safety of workers and the public, there will be lane closures with drivers escorted through the site by a convoy vehicle at 10mph. All traffic management will be removed outside working hours, with a 30mph speed limit remaining in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said, “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users. We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
