RESURFACING WORKS ON A85 WEST OF BRIDGE OF AWE

Updated 26 January 2026: Due to the poor weather forecast, daytime resurfacing on the A85 west of Bridge of Awe will not go ahead on Tuesday 27 January. Works will resume on Wednesday 28 January. Please see new dates below.


  • Daytime resurfacing works start on Thursday 22 January

  • Convoy in place until Thursday 29 January

  

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out resurfacing works on the A85 West of Bridge of Awe from Thursday 22 January.

 

Works will be carried out between the hours of 7am to 7pm and are expected to be completed by the evening of Thursday 29 January.

 

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, two way temporary traffic lights will be in place with a 10mph convoy. Outwith these hours traffic management will be removed however, a 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.

 

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of  the works.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This resurfacing on the A85 west of Bridge of Awe will fix existing defects in the road surface and improve road markings, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users.

“Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
