RESURFACING THE WESTBOUND M876 AT M9 JUNCTION 7

November 15, 2022

WORKS POSTPONED: Due to low temperatures, these works have been postponed for the night of Thursday 15 December. As the forecast for the majority of the week is similar, the situation will be reviewed each morning.

  • Seven overnight carriageway closures 12-21 December 2022

The westbound carriageway of the M876 will be closed for resurfacing at Kinnaird House Interchange (M9 Junction 7) between 19:30 and 06:00 on the nights of 12-17 and 19-21 December.

Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland is set to renew approximately 1.8 kilometres of carriageway.

A clearly signed diversion route suitable for trunk road traffic will be in place from M876 Junction 3 to M9 at Junction 5, via the A905, Bellsdkye Road and the A9, adding approximately 11.7 miles and 23 minutes to affected journeys.

All traffic management will be removed outwith working hours and ‘No Road Markings’ signs placed where applicable. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to make them aware of the plans in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will greatly improve the surface for motorists using this stretch of the M876.

“We thank motorists and the local community in advance for their patience while we carry out this project. We’ll do all we can to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.”
