RESURFACING THE SOUTHBOUND M9 AT JUNCTION 7 TO JUNCTION 6

July 13, 2022

  • Overnight carriageway closure 28, 29 July and 1 August 2022

BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface 1.8 kilometres of the M9 southbound between Junction 7 and Junction 6.

The work will take place between the hours of 19:30 until 06:00 on the nights of Thursday 28 and Friday 29 July, and 1 August.

A diversion route for southbound traffic will be signposted from M9 Junction 7 to M9 Junction 5, via the M876, A905, A88, B902 and A9. This diversion will add approximately 15 minutes and 5.9 miles to affected journeys.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve ride quality and safety for motorists using this section of the M9.

“A carriageway closure is essential for the safety of workers and road users, however we’ve scheduled the works overnight to minimise disruption.

“If you do need to travel during these works, please allow some extra time for your journey.”

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
