RESURFACING THE SOUTHBOUND M9 AT JUNCTION 5

April 22, 2022

  • Overnight carriageway closure 29 April 2022

BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface 0.8 kilometres of the M9 southbound between the slip roads at Junction 5 Cadgers Brae.

The work will take place between the hours of 19:30 until 06:00 on the night of Friday 29 April, with southbound traffic diverted off the M9 via the Junction 5 off-slip onto the A905 Beancross Road, then back onto the M9 via the Junction 5 on-slip.

This diversion will add approximately 2 minutes and 0.1 miles to affected journeys.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve ride quality and safety for motorists using this section of the M9.

“A carriageway closure is essential for the safety of workers and road users, however the diversion is relatively short and we’ve scheduled the works overnight to minimise disruption.”

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
