RESURFACING THE M9 APPROACH TO JUNCTION 6 SOUTHBOUND

June 16, 2022

  • Two overnight carriageway closures 26 and 27 July 2022

The southbound carriageway of the M9 Approach to Junction 6 will be closed for resurfacing between 19:30 and 06:00 on the nights of Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 July.

Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland plans to renew approximately 1 kilometre of carriageway.

A clearly signed diversion route will be in place from M9 Junction 7, with southbound traffic directed via the M876, A905, A88 and A9 to re-join the M9 at Junction 5.

All traffic management will be removed outwith working hours and access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Consultation has been carried out with relevant stakeholders to make them aware of the plans in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will greatly improve the surface for motorists using this stretch of the M9.

“We thank motorists and the local community in advance for their patience while we carry out this project. We’ll do all we can to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.”
