RESURFACING THE M876 JUNCTION 1 ON-SLIP

March 14, 2022

  • Overnight closures Thursday 24 and Friday 25 March 2022

Motorists using the slip road onto the westbound M876 Junction 1 are set to benefit from an improved road surface, with Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland planning to resurface it on the nights of Thursday 24 and Friday 25 March.

For the safety of workers and road users during these works, the M876 Junction 1 westbound on-slip and one lane of the westbound M876 will be closed from 19:30 until 06:00 on these nights.

A diversion route for traffic wishing to join the M876 will be signposted via the A883 and A803 to M80 Junction 7, adding an estimated 5 minutes and 2.7 miles to affected journeys. Temporary traffic lights will be located on Larbert Road and A8004 for local residents. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times and all traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve safety and ride quality for motorists using this slip road.”
