The southbound carriageway of the M80 motorway between Junctions 9 and 8 near Denny will be closed for resurfacing between 19:30 and 06:00 on the nights of 28, 29 and 30 May, and 2 June.
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will carry out the works, renewing a total of 1.2 kilometres of surfacing.
A signed diversion route for southbound traffic will be in place from Junction 9, via the M9 southbound to Junction 7 and the M876 northbound to turn at Junction 3 Bowtrees and return southbound to join the M80 at Junction 8. This diversion will add approximately 9 minutes and 10 miles to affected journeys.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South-East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will result in smoother and safer journeys for motorists.
“It is essential for safety that we close the carriageway during the works, however we’ve scheduled the works at night to minimise disruption.
“We appreciate that this will cause delays for some people and thank the public in advance for their patience and understanding.”
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
