BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to carry out essential resurfacing works on the M80 Junction 9 northbound off slip on the nights of Thursday 19 and Friday 20 November.
To allow a safe working area around the works, the full northbound carriageway of the M80 will be closed between Junctions 8 (Bankhead) and 9 (Bannockburn) from 19:30 to 06:00 each night.
During this period, a signed diversion route will be in place for northbound traffic on the M80 between Junction 8 and Junction 9. Traffic will be directed to follow the M876 eastbound to turn at Junction 3 (Bowtrees), return westbound on the M876 and then join the M9 northbound. This diversion is expected to increase journey times by an additional 10 minutes and add 9.8 miles.
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s Southeast Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve the road quality and safety for motorists using this slip road on the M80, while making use of sustainable techniques to minimise the environmental impact of the works.
“We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
