RESURFACING THE EASTBOUND M876

June 1, 2022

  • Overnight slip road closures 8-10 June 2022

BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface 1.1 kilometres of the eastbound slip road from M9 Junction 7 onto the M876 over three nights from Wednesday 8 June.

For the safety of workers and road users, the slip road will be closed on the nights of Wednesday 8, Thursday 9 and Friday 10 June, from 19:30 until 06:00.

A diversion route will be signposted via the M9 southbound to Junction 6, where traffic will be directed onto the A905 and then the M9 northbound to join the M876 at Junction 7. This diversion will add an estimated 9 minutes and 6.4 miles to affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve ride quality and safety for motorists using the M876.

“Carriageway closures are essential for safety, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption. We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
