RESURFACING THE A830 WEST OF LOCH EIL

August 9, 2023

Lane closures with 10mph convoy in place between Monday 21 – Friday 25 August

BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface 1.4km of the A830 West of Loch Eil.

The works will take place over five days between 7am and 7pm, from Monday 21 to Friday 25 August 2023. For the safety of the workforce and drivers, there will be single lane closures with two-way temporary traffic lights. Traffic will be safely escorted through the site by a convoy vehicle at 10mph.

Outside these hours traffic management will be removed and a 30mph speed limit will be put in place as traffic will travel over a temporary surface.

BEAR Scotland will be monitoring the impact that these works will have on journey times, but motorists should expect some delays during these works.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing project, so that they are informed of the traffic management arrangements.

BEAR Scotland and Transport Scotland wish to thank the local communities in advance for their patience during these essential works.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “This £320,000 project to replace a worn-out section of carriageway will make the road surface more durable and resilient against poor weather, as well as safer and smoother to drive on. We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
