RESURFACING THE A823(M) SLIP ROAD ONTO THE NORTHBOUND M90

June 1, 2022

  • Overnight works Tuesday 7 June 2022

Overnight works to renew the road surface on the slip road from the A823(M) onto the northbound M90 are scheduled for Tuesday 7 June.

Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will carry out the project over one night.

For the safety of workers and road users, the slip road will be closed during the work between 20:00 and 06:00.

During this period of closure, a signed diversion route will be in place from Pitreavie Roundabout via the B980 and A985 to re-join the M90 northbound at Admiralty Junction Roundabout (Junction 1C). A location plan showing this diversion route is below. A lane closure will also be in place on the M90 northbound to facilitate a safe working zone on the slip road.

Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s Southeast Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will address and repair defects in the road surface such as potholes and cracks, creating safer and smoother journeys for motorists.

“It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close the carriageway, however we’ve scheduled the works during overnight hours to minimise any disruption.”

“We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website www.trafficscotland.org for up-to-date travel information and allowing extra time for their journey.
