BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are continuing improvement works on Raigmore Interchange on the A9 with resurfacing starting on Saturday 18 July.
Works will be carried out overnight, between the hours of 7:30pm and 6am with this phase of works expected to be completed by the morning of Thursday 23 July.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, various types of traffic management are required throughout the resurfacing phase as follows:
Saturday 18 July to Sunday 19 July, 7:30pm to 6am
Sunday 19 July to Monday 20 July, 7:30pm to 6am
Monday 20 July to Tuesday 21 July, 7:30pm to 6am
Tuesday 21 July to Wednesday 22 July, 7:30pm to 6am
Wednesday 22 July to Thursday 23 July, 7:30pm to 6am
Diversion routes suitable for trunk road traffic will be signposted throughout the resurfacing works and all traffic management restrictions will be removed outwith working hours. Road users are advised to follow diversion signage rather than relying on SatNav systems.
Temporary bus stops will be in use on Millburn Road from Monday 20 July to the morning of Thursday 23 July.
Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Once these resurfacing works are complete, further overnight lane closures will be necessary to allow set up and configuration of the new traffic signals, with full project completion expected by mid-August.
Gerard Kelly, BEAR Scotland’s Active Travel Manager said: “The resurfacing works mark a significant milestone in the Raigmore Interchange improvement project.
“Some full closures of parts of the interchange are required to complete the works safely. These will be limited to overnight hours to minimise any disruption, however we understand the impact a project of this scale has on road users, businesses and the local community.
“We thank road users for their ongoing patience and understanding while our teams continue works at Raigmore Interchange.”
