BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to carry out four nights of resurfacing improvements on the A87 west of Cluanie Inn, from Tuesday 5 September 2023.

The project will see 450m of road resurfaced, providing a smoother and safer drive for motorists.

To allow this work to be carried out safely, there will be lane closures with a 10mph convoy system and traffic lights between 7am and 7pm each day. The works are scheduled to be finished by 7pm on Friday 8 September.

All lanes will be open outside working hours to keep disruption to a minimum, but a speed restriction of 30mph will be in place as traffic will be running over a temporary surface.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This project on the A87 will help address defects and greatly improve the road surface.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
