Two overnight closures of the bridge carrying the A84 trunk road over the M9 are scheduled, to allow resurfacing of the road to be carried out as part of an ongoing major refurbishment project.
The bridge will be closed in both directions between 19:30 and 06:00 on the nights of Friday 20 and Saturday 21 June.
Signed diversion routes will be in place during these closures:
The footways across the bridge will also be closed, with a diversion route for cyclists and pedestrians signposted via a path to the north of the bridge.
David Bishop, BEAR Scotland’s South East Unit Bridges Manager, said: “Following extensive deck repairs of the bridge carrying the A84 over the M9 at Craigforth it is now time to resurface the road.
“It is essential that the resurfacing is completed comprehensively to ensure that this bridge continues to provide safe and reliable service. Unfortunately this does require two full bridge closures, however we will limit these to overnight hours in order to minimise the impact on the public.
“If you do need to use this route on the night of any of the closures, our advice is to plan ahead and allow some extra time for your journey.”
Relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.
Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland at www.traffic.gov.scot, or on X at @trafficscotland.
All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
