Update 4 October: The A83 at Strone Point, Inveraray is now partially clear and is passible for vehicles. Potential delays to be expected in the area while traffic clears. The Old Military Road remains in operation as previously communicated.
Due to the continued wet weather forecast and ongoing yellow weather warning, the A83 Rest and Be Thankful will remain closed with traffic diverted onto the Old Military Road today (4 October) and overnight into tomorrow (5 October).
BEAR Scotland will continue to monitor the forecast and conditions, and further updates will follow. The use of the diversion route to protect the safety of road users.
Please be aware that the A83 is currently closed at Strone Point, Inverary due to a fallen tree. Due to the size of the tree and where is has fallen, specialist subcontractors have been called to assess the tree and remove it as quickly and safety as possible.
