REPAIRS ON A828 CONNEL BRIDGE

August 14, 2025

  • Repairs carried out from midnight into the morning of Wednesday 20 August
  • Traffic will be held for periods of up to 30 minutes

BEAR Scotland is advising road users and the local community that it will be undertaking further repair work on the A828 at Connel Bridge due to the recent bridge strike.

The bridge will be closed for periods during the early morning of Wednesday 20 August between 00:01 to 06:00. To allow the works to be carried out, traffic lights will be used to stop traffic in both directions for up to 30 minutes. Waiting vehicles will then be allowed to clear before any further closures.

Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These further repairs on the A828 Connel Bridge are required following a recent bridge strike.

“Our teams will carry out these works as quickly as possible to help minimise disruption. We thank the local community and road users for their patience and understanding while we carry out this vital maintenance.”
