BEAR Scotland, the North West trunk road operating company, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to start essential resurfacing improvements on the A82 between between Tarbet and Inverarnan.
All resurfacing and road marking works will take place between 8pm and 6am under a road closure to ensure the safety of road workers and road users.
- A82 North of Inveruglas + A82 Creag an Arnain: Beginning the evening of Sunday 21 September until the morning of Thursday 9 October. No works will take place on Friday or Saturday Nights.
- A82 Stuckindroin to Inverarnan: Beginning the evening of Monday the 29 September until the morning of Friday 10 October.
Due to narrow carriageway widths along this section and to protect the workforce and members of the public, the A82 will be closed in both directions at Tarbet and Crianlarich each working night. A signed diversion route will be in place via the A82, A85, A819 & A83, adding an additional 38 miles and approximately 50 minutes to the journey time for road users travelling between Tarbet and Crianlarich.
Outwith working hours the traffic management will be removed, however, a temporary speed limit of 30 mph will be in place as road users will be travelling over a temporary surface.
Access through the work sites for emergency services and local residents will be maintained at all times.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These works will help restore the condition of the road surface of this section of the A82 improving driving conditions.
“Our teams are committed to executing these works quickly and with safety as our top priority. We extend our gratitude to the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.
“To minimise delays, we recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
