BEAR NE Bridges Team is looking to recruit an Engineer at Principal/Senior Engineer level to assist on the delivery of bridge repair, maintenance and upgrade schemes on structures within the NE trunk road network, as part of the term maintenance contract to Transport Scotland.  This is a temporary role up to the end of March 2022 but may be extended.  Current government guidelines will be followed in relation to home working and the base depot will be Perth.

The ideal candidate should have several years civil/structural engineering design and construction experience, preferably a chartered member of the ICE or IStructE or close to this level of professional accreditation.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Overseeing the design of various structural repair, refurbishment and upgrade schemes on bridges, culverts, retaining walls and other trunk road structures;
• Construction Phase Planning;
• Producing, checking and approving design deliverables for planned schemes (design drawings, calculations, specifications, BoQs, risk assessments, method statements);
• Implementation of CDM 2015 throughout design, planning and construction phases;
• Site supervision;
• Structural inspections;
• Mentoring of Graduate Engineers and junior staff
