OVERNIGHT SURFACING ON THE A86 AT ROY BRIDGE

September 15, 2025

  • Works start on Wednesday 1 October

  • Overnight road closure with amnesties in place until the morning of Wednesday 15 October

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out surfacing improvements on the A86 at Roy Bridge from Wednesday 1 October.

Works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 7am and are expected to be completed by the morning of Wednesday 15 October. There will be no works on Friday or Saturday nights.

For the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, the road will be closed in both directions each working night. Amnesties will be offered at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 2am and 4am to allow waiting vehicles to be escorted safely through the site.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the works commencing so that they are aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This surfacing project on the A86 at Roy Bridge will fix existing defects in the road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety of the road for all users.

“In undertaking these works, safety is our top priority and we thank the local community and road users in advance for their patience while we complete these necessary improvements.”
