Road closure with amnesties until Thursday 24 September
On behalf of Transport Scotland, BEAR Scotland will be carrying out essential surfacing improvements on the A86 east of Strathmashie, 2 miles south of the A86/A889 junction, with works set to get underway from Monday 14 September.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 8pm and 6am each day and are expected to be completed by the morning of Thursday 24 September, subject to weather conditions.
To protect the workforce and road users, this section of the A86 will be fully closed between working hours. Amnesties will be provided at 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 2am and 4am. Outwith working hours, the A86 will be open as normal.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Euan Burnett, BEAR Scotland’s North West Planned Maintenance Manager said: “This surfacing project on the A86 will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for motorists.
“Our teams will complete the works as efficiently and safely as possible, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
