OVERNIGHT SURFACING IMPROVEMENTS ON A83 SOUTH OF ARDRISHAIG CANCELLED ON 9 AND 10 NOVEMBER

November 9, 2022

  • Works cancelled 9 and 10 November due to inclement weather
  • The works will resume on Sunday 13 November
  • Overnight road closures in place for safety, 7pm to 5am

Please be advised that planned resurfacing works at the A83 south of Ardrishaig will not take place tonight, Thursday 9 November or tomorrow, Friday 10 November, due to inclement weather. The works will resume on Sunday 13 November.

Times and traffic management arrangements will remain the same.

The project will see improvements made over a 1km section of the A83, creating a safer and smoother journey for road users.

Other than the 9 and 10 November, the enhancements will take place on 16 nights, from Sunday to Thursday each week until 27 November and will be complete by 5am on Monday 28th November, subject to weather conditions. Works are scheduled between 7pm and 5am each night, with no works on Friday or Saturday nights.

Due to the narrow road widths at this location on the A83, work will be carried out using a full road closure to ensure the safety of operatives and road users. There will be amnesty periods at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, midnight, 2am and 4am. Motorists are encouraged to arrive prior to these times to ensure they are accommodated within the amnesty period.

To help keep disruption to a minimum the A83 will remain open during the daytime, between 5am and 7pm. Reduced speed limits will be in place and road users should drive with care as they will be running on a temporary road surface.

Emergency services will be able to pass through the works at all times. Local access for residents and scheduled bus services will be maintained.
