The A7 north of Dryden Farm will be closed for overnight resurfacing works between Friday 15 August and Friday 22 August.
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will undertake the works which will see road closures overnight between the hours of 19:30 and 06:00.
No works will take place on the nights of Saturday 16 or Sunday 17 August.
A signed diversion will be in place for road users between Selkirk to Hawick, via the A699, A68 and A698. This will add 14.1 miles and 22 minutes to journeys.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “We understand that road closures of this nature can be disruptive, so we’ve planned for these works to take place overnight to minimise potential disruption.
“We’ll do what we can to ensure we mitigate noise to local residents, including completing the noisiest operations by 11pm each night. We thank the local community for their understanding while these essential improvements are completed.”
All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
