OVERNIGHT RESURFACING ON THE M9 AT JUNCTION 10

March 16, 2023

  • Overnight road closures for three consecutive nights beginning Tuesday 21 March 2023

BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface 0.4 kilometres of the M9 northbound offslip at Junction 10.

The works will take place for three nights, from Tuesday 21 March to Thursday 23 March 2023.

For the safety of workers and road users, the northbound will be closed between Junction 9 and Junction 10 between 19:30 and 06:00 on these nights.

A signed diversion route will be in place for M80 and M9 northbound traffic with motorists being diverted off the carriageway at Junction 9 and diverted via A91, A907 and A9 before returning to Keir Roundabout for onward travel. The diversion route will add approximately 12 minutes and 2 miles to affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These works will improve the surface quality and safety for motorists on these sections of the M9.

“The road closure is essential for safety, and we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise any disruption. We will do all we can to complete the project as quickly as possible and thank motorists in advance for their patience.”

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
