OVERNIGHT RESURFACING ON THE A83 NORTH OF CLACHAN

March 16, 2026

  • Resurfacing works starting Sunday 29 March

  • Road closures with hourly amnesties

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential improvements on the A83 north of Clachan, at Leamnamuic from Sunday 29 March between the hours of 7pm and 6am. Works are expected to be completed by the morning of Wednesday 6 May.

To protect the workforce, this section of the A83 will be closed overnight. Amnesties will be provided at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am to allow road users to pass through the site safely.

There will be no works or road closure on Friday and Saturday nights or between Monday 6 April and Sunday 19 April.

Traffic management measures will be removed outwith working hours, however, a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place during the day as traffic will be running on a temporary surface with no road markings.

Access through the works sites for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Steven Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These works will help restore the condition of the road surface of this section of the A83, greatly improving driving conditions.

“Our teams are committed to executing these works efficiently with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.

“To minimise delays, we recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
