BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out resurfacing on the A87 between Invergarry and Bun Loyne, from Sunday 4 October.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night, with no works programmed on either Saturday or Sunday night. Works are expected to be completed by the morning of Tuesday 10 November, subject to favourable weather conditions.
To ensure the safety of both the workforce and members of the travelling public, this section of the A87 will be closed in both directions during working hours. During periods of closure, a signed diversion route will be in operation via the A82 and the A887:
The diversion will add 16.7 miles and approximately 29 minutes to journey times.
Local access to and from Tomdoun junction will be maintained via the Invergarry closure point.
Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours; however, a reduced speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary road surface.
Emergency service vehicles will be allowed to pass through the site at all times during overnight operations.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to help minimise disruption whenever possible.

“We understand that roadworks can be inconvenient, and we have planned these works to be carried out as efficiently as possible while maintaining the safety of our workforce and the travelling public. We thank local communities and road users for their patience and cooperation while we complete these essential improvements.”
